Panther Valley Golf and Country Club truly does have something to offer each and every member of your family.
Golf The golfers in your family will love our 18-hole championship golf course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, one of the most heralded architects in all of golf. The course will delight you with its beautiful views of our valley and its fun, yet challenging layout.
Clubhouse Whether you are a golfer or not, you and your family will enjoy our Clubhouse. The Clubhouse has three separate dining areas and bar for our members and guests to enjoy.
Swimming Panther Valley has three swimming pools to satisfy all of our members, from our youngest to our more seasoned.
Tennis Tennis players will enjoy our three lighted tennis courts adjacent to our swimming pools and Cabana.
The Family Pool and Cabana at Panther Valley Golf and Country Club
Panther Valley Golf & Country Club was originally a part of the estate of Clendenin James Ryan Jr., grandson of Thomas “Fortune” Ryan, a New York City financier who was recorded as the last of the robber barons of Wall Street. The estate was known as Panther Ledge Farm (the name is still visible on the stone pillars forming the gateway of the property as you approach the Pro Shop). Panther Ledge Farm was a 4,000 acre cattle farm where black angus cows were bred and raised. The top four holes (15-16-17-18) were used by the Ryan family as their own layout along what is now known as the “adult swimming pool”.
In 1967, Robert Trent Jones was retained to design an 18-hole championship quality golf course. After many meetings, the course development was started in 1968. Nine holes were opened in the Spring of 1969 and by October the full eighteen holes were played. The present large pool and cabana were completed and in use in 1970.
Do I have to be a resident of the Panther Valley community in order to join the Panther Valley Golf and Country Club?
No, you do not have to be a resident of Panther Valley in order to join.
Do I have to be a member in order to use the Club’s banquet facilities?
No, you do not have to be a member or know a member in order to use our banquet facilities. Please contact our Food & Beverage Manager, Erik Gudmundsson at (908) 850-0800 for more information regarding holding your event at the Panther Valley Golf & Country Club.
If I leave Panther Valley Golf and Country Club do I lose the initiation fee and Proprietary Certificate that I purchased to join?
When you are invited to join the Club you will pay an initiation fee and you will be asked to purchase a Proprietary Certificate. If you chose to leave the Club, your name goes on the Proprietary Certificate redemption list and the amount you paid for your Proprietary Certificate will be returned to you as soon as possible. The Board of Trustees of Panther Valley Golf and Country Club is committed to reimbursing former members for their Proprietary Certificates as soon as financially practical. If a member leaves the Club with a balance due, all or part of the funds paid for their Proprietary Certificate may be retained by the Club.
The Board of Trustees recently increased the Proprietary Certificate and decreased the initiation fee. The result of this change is that members who join under our newer membership categories will experience a greater return of their initial investment when they leave the Club.
Is there a food minimum?
There is a food minimum, but the term “minimum” is really a misnomer. It is more appropriately called a food “prepayment.” As you purchase food in the Clubhouse, up at the Pool, or at the Halfway House out on the course, the cost of the food you purchase comes out of your pre-payment. Most of our members find that they’ve already exhausted their food prepayment by mid-summer—which is a testament to the quality of the food and service at the Club. In fact, with the addition of Chef Darren Lewinski, we think the quality of our food is among the best in the area!
